MacBook
The MacBook is basically a portable iMac. All the capabilities of the iMac are in this small,
portable unit, sacrificing only the large screen sizes of the desktop-anchored iMac. The ability to
take your Mac wherever you go is a bigger draw than a large screen size for many users, so the
MacBook is a very popular choice.

Intel Processors
Everyone is familiar with the little jingle that plays at the end of most Intel commercials. If you
are a new Mac user, you probably assume that all computers have always used Intel processors,
but that??™s certainly not the case. Apple used PowerPC processors (jointly developed by IBM,
Motorola, and Apple) for years with their computers. The PowerPC processors were powerful
workhorses and had speed to burn, so why did Apple change? That??™s a good question, but I??™ll bet
some of you asked a more obvious one, like??¦

The term ???processor??? is simply short for ???microprocessor,??? which is also known as a CPU
(central processing unit).
