"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Your Mac doesn??™t much care where you put it, but you will. Here are just
a few things to consider when setting up your work area:
?–  Environment Make sure that the room you choose to work in is well lit and cool. The
upside of good lighting is obvious, even though many people do find it easier to focus
on a monitor if the light is not quite so bright. Find a ???happy medium??? that allows you to
comfortably focus on the screen while supplying ample light for reading and seeing other
objects. The temperature of the room is important because it will rise considerably when
the computer is running, particularly if you are in relatively close quarters.
?–  Desk When using a laptop, you can pretty much lounge anywhere you like with your
Mac. However, if your Mac is a Mac mini or iMac, you will be tied to your desk. Be sure
that your desk is large enough and sturdy enough to accommodate the sizes and support
the weight of your computer and whatever peripherals you choose to connect to it, such
as a printer or scanner.
Keep Your Mac on Even
when the Power Is Off
Very few things can make you pull the follicles right out of your scalp quicker than the
power shutting off in your home or office while you??™re in the middle of an important project
with your Mac.
