When the power goes out, the work you haven??™t saved will be lost forever.
This nightmare scenario can be avoided with the purchase of a UPS. I don??™t mean you
have to buy your own shipping company; I??™m referring to an uninterruptible power supply.
A UPS looks like a large surge protector, with many outlets so that multiple devices can plug
into it. The UPS contains a battery that it will switch to almost immediately when utility
power is disconnected. Your Mac can run off of this battery power for several minutes,
giving you the time to safely save the files you are working on.
MacBook users won??™t have to worry about this kind of issue since they have batteries in
their Mac already.
CHAPTER 1: Welcome to the World of Mac! 13
?– Seating When selecting a chair, make sure it is comfortable and supportive. If
your chair is so plush that your posture is almost doubled over, you might want to
get something slightly more firm. If the seat is so hard your legs fall asleep after five
minutes, you might want to consider cushioning up a bit.
Make sure your chair isn??™t too high or too low.
