What??™s All This On My Screen?
Once your Mac has completed booting up, the first thing you see is the Finder and the default
desktop picture. The Finder is the Mac user??™s best friend, and is an application you will use more

sole function is to help you navigate the files and folders on your Mac. I will go into much more
detail about the Finder in Chapter 3. For now I will keep things simple until you familiarize

?– Menu bar The menu bar is the topmost part of your screen that holds several menus:
the Apple menu, the Finder or application menu, status menus, and the Spotlight menu
(the small magnifying glass in the upper right corner).
