The order of the list is up to you. By default, the items are listed alphabetically
in descending order, but you can change this order by clicking the column header. You can also
order the items by the date they were modified, or by the size of the files.
Column view is my personal favorite but it can take a little getting used to, especially if you??™ve
used another computing platform such as Mac OS 9 or Microsoft Windows. When in Column view,
each time you click a drive or a folder, a new column opens to display the information contained
in that drive or folder. If that drive or folder contains other folders, click one of them and you will
see a new column that displays its contents, and so on. If you click a file while in Column view, a
new column shows you a preview of that file. As examples, if the file is an MP3 music file, you can
34 How to Do Everything: Mac
listen to the song by clicking the play button in the Preview column, or if it??™s a movie file, you can
watch a miniature version of the movie in the Preview column.
When taking the ???cool factor??? into account, Cover Flow view is the hands-down winner.
