Spring-loaded folders is a great feature that makes for even speedier
browsing and file arranging. When you drag a file over a folder and hold it there for a
few seconds (you can adjust the time by moving the Delay slider at the bottom of the
General preferences pane), the folder will ???spring??? open and you can just drop the file
right in. This isn??™t much of a feature if you are simply dragging a file into a single folder,

but if you need to move the file to a folder that may be deeply embedded in several other
folders, using spring-loaded folders is a huge timesaver.
?– Labels Labels are really helpful for organizing information. Labels don??™t change your
files??™ or folders??™ contents in any way; they just allow you to assign a color to each file
and folder so that you can group them by whatever designation you give the colors.

?– Sidebar The Sidebar preference pane lets you choose whether to show certain items by
default in the sidebar of Finder windows.
