?– Downloads This folder is the default location for all the files you download from the
Internet.
?– Library This is the Library folder that should be closest to your heart, for this particular
one contains all that is ???you??? about your Mac. All of your personal preferences are in this
one folder, such as what desktop picture you prefer, which Finder view you like most,
whether you want to be prompted when emptying the Trash, what login picture you use
for your user account, your email server information, all your favorite websites, and
much, much more! Thankfully, the vast majority of what takes place in the Library folder
is handled by Mac OS X itself, and the user typically has very little interaction with it.
?– Movies This is another of the empty folders Apple was nice enough to create ahead of
time for you. Apple assumed that you would at some point save video files on your Mac,
whether they are home movies or movie trailers. This is the place to store your moving
picture shows.
?– Music Everybody??™s got an iPod, right? Well, no, not everyone, but we all like to listen
to music.
