"How to Do Everything: Mac"

The default toolbar items are Back, View, Quick Look, Action, and Search. You can drag the
entire default set from the customization panel to the toolbar to reset the toolbar to its original
state. You can also drag-and-drop an item anywhere in the toolbar, and you can remove it by
dragging it off the toolbar altogether.
Next, select how you would like the items in the toolbar to be displayed. Click the Show
pop-up menu in the bottom-left corner of the customization panel, and then choose one of the
three options. You can also change the size of the icons in the toolbar by checking the Use Small
Size check box.
When you??™re finished customizing the toolbar, click the Done button. From now on, every
Finder window will use your new setup.
Personalize Your Icons
Mac OS X provides beautiful, top-flight icons, but it also gives you the freedom to use your own
icons should the notion strike you. Aside from being purely ornamental, custom icons can actually
be useful to help categorize files and folders that share some common trait. You can create your
own icons, download new icons from Internet websites, and mix and match icons already on your
Mac.
