Sharing Only Accounts
This account type only allows someone to remotely connect to your Mac so that they can view
shared files and folders. Sharing Only accounts cannot be used to log in to the Mac through the
login window, and they cannot change any settings for the computer.
Add a New User Account
Open System Preferences and click the Accounts icon in the System area; this opens the
Accounts preferences pane, as shown in Figure 4-5. Check to see whether the lock icon at
the bottom left of the window is closed or open. If it is closed, click the lock and type in your
account password when prompted; this allows you to make changes to the system, as described
in the following sections.
Remember, as an administrator you rule this Mac with an iron fist. This not only means
you are in control, but you are also able to break the entire system rather easily if you
aren??™t careful.
