"How to Do Everything: Mac"

It??™s
always wise to check the size of the paper your Mac is about to print on first, so choose
File | Page Setup. Make sure to choose the correct paper size for your job (typically
Letter, or 8.5 ?— 11 inches), and then click OK.
2. Choose File | Print (or press z-P), and then click the Print button in the bottom right of
the dialog box.
CHAPTER 6: How to Use Your Mac??™s Applications 131
Assuming everything goes smoothly, you will soon be rewarded with a hard copy of your
file. Happy printing!
Quit Applications
It??™s the end of the day and time to wrap things up before heading to the homestead, so you start
quitting the applications you??™ve been working with. But what??™s this? The application??™s icon is
still in the Dock and the glowing dot beneath it tips you off that it??™s still running. Most likely,
you only clicked the red dot in the upper-left corner of the document??™s window you were using,
which only closes that particular window and doesn??™t shut down the application (there are rare
exceptions to this rule).
To properly close the application, choose File | Quit (or press z-Q).
