Get to Know Pages
Pages is much more than just a word processor: it??™s a gift from above! Pages??™ expertise isn??™t
limited to just being a word processor: it??™s also a page layout program. You can create a fullcolor
travel brochure as easily as you can create a double-spaced book report. If you??™ve ever used
Microsoft Word, you will be blown away by how Pages does essentially the same job but with
so much less effort. Pages is actually a pleasure to use due to its intuitive interface and the huge
array of predesigned templates that make laying out a project nearly effortless.
Pages has two modes: word processing and page layout. Open Pages by double-clicking its
icon in Hard Drive | Applications | iWork:
You are presented with a huge range of templates to choose from (see Figure 7-1). These
templates are divided into the two modes just mentioned, and you should choose which mode
best suits your needs.
