Use Templates
Templates are just another way that Apple makes your life so much easier. Why build a document
from scratch when Apple has already done all the heavy lifting? Apple has already put text and
pictures into the templates; these items are called placeholders. When you select a template, all
you have to do is enter your own text and pictures where the placeholders are, and??”voil? !??”you
have an instant document.
FIGURE 7-1 Pages, like the rest of the iWork suite, is overflowing with templates to make
your document-building experience the very best that it can be.

To replace placeholder text in a template, click the text you want to change and it will
highlight. Type the text you want to insert and it will replace the highlighted text.
