Figure 7-2 in
the previous section is a good example of a letter template; the highlighted text is about to be
replaced by my own remarks.
To replace the images in a template, such as the picture of the vegetables in Figure 7-3,
simply drag the image you want to use from the Media Browser on top of the placeholder image.
The new image takes on the size and settings of the placeholder.

Templates are great to use, and you could choose to never create a document in Pages
without using a template to do it, but you wouldn??™t learn much about the application because
most of the work is already done for you. To get to know Pages a little better, you should open a
blank document and enter the information using your own unique design, as described next.
Start from Scratch: Use a Blank Document
Let??™s build a basic document in Pages. To do so, choose File | New or press z-N, select Blank
from the template list, and click the Choose button; this opens a blank document, waiting for you
to add something to it.
