Get to Know Numbers
Numbers is the newest sibling in the iWork family, and has also been one of the most anticipated.
Numbers makes iWork a fully functional suite of applications that is suitable for implementation
in any office environment.
Numbers has one task in this life, and that is to create impressive spreadsheets using the
data you give it. It carries out its mission in the same manner as Pages and Keynote: with cold,
calculated ease and efficiency, with a splash of ???Wow!???
A spreadsheet helps you to arrange data in an organized fashion through the use of
columns, rows, cells that contain the data, and formulas that calculate the numbers
in the cells. You can present the information in a spreadsheet via tables or charts that
easily arrange the data into a visual presentation.
To open Numbers, double-click its icon in Hard Drive | Applications |
iWork.
The layout of Numbers main window, shown in Figure 7-8, is intuitive
enough for even a ???first-time spreadsheeter??? to handle.
