This makes it even easier to tell which cell goes with which
value in the formula.
The formula used to calculate the value of cell B5 is written as ???=Amount Monthly Net
Income ??”Amount Planned Monthly Savings,??? which means the same thing as the value in
cell B2 minus the value in cell B3 equals the value in cell B5. Formulas can get much more
complicated than this, of course, but this is a good example of how cells and formulas work with
one another in a spreadsheet.

Use Charts
Charts are used to represent data in a table graphically. They are used to make more effective
comparisons of data than can be achieved sometimes with just mere numerals.
The Budget template we are using has one chart already built into it: the Savings chart. The
Savings chart is representative of the data in the Savings footer row of the Annual Budget by
Month table, as Figure 7-14 shows.
