"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Install Your Printer
Have you decided how you are going to connect your printer yet, USB or network? If your printer
only supports one connection type, your decision is a pretty simple one, but if you have the option,
the decision can be tricky. Here are two questions and answers to help make your decision easier:
?–  Do you have only one Mac? If yes, USB is the simplest method.
?–  Do you have a network router? If yes, a network connection is your best bet, even if you
have only one Mac.
Now that you??™ve decided on your connection, let??™s start installing.
Use USB Hubs
Some computer users like to utilize a USB hub, which provides extra external USB ports that a
Mac otherwise doesn??™t have. Using a USB hub is similar to using an electrical extension cord
in your home to gain several sockets from a single wall outlet. USB hubs are well and fine,
until they don??™t work. Don??™t get me wrong, most USB hubs function perfectly for their entire
lifespan. However, when the typical computer user begins having connection problems with
devices on their USB hub, the hub is usually the last suspect when it should actually be the first.
