Once the selection is made (whether automatically or manually), click the
Add button to finish installing your printer. It is now available for use and is shown in the list on
the left side of the Print & Fax preferences pane.
Print a Job
This is the fun part of the chapter, where we actually get to put the printer through a little workout.
Since we??™re striving for simplicity, let??™s open our tried and true friend TextEdit. Type whatever
you like on the blank page, and then choose File | Page Setup to open the Page Setup window.
Page Setup is where you select the printer you will be printing to, the paper size you want to print
your job on, the orientation of the job on the page, and to what size to scale the job.

Once you??™ve set the options to your liking, click OK.
The ???Format For??? option should always be set to the name of the printer you are using,
not to ???Any Printer.??? This avoids any possible problems your printer may have with
the generic paper size information it will receive from your Mac.
