"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Your driver is probably not installed correctly or the Mac can??™t communicate with the
printer to discover the manufacturer and model information. Try reinstalling the driver,
and then follow the connection advice mentioned in the preceding bullet point.
?–  I can send jobs but they never print. The print queue may be paused. Open the Print &
Fax preferences pane and see if there is an exclamation point next to the printer name. If
there is, the printer has been paused. Click the Open Print Queue button, and then click
the Resume Printer button. Also, be sure the printer isn??™t out of paper. Many times the
problem is something obvious.
?–  I can??™t see my supply levels. The connection type you are using may not support the
gathering of that kind of information from your particular printer, or the printer driver
may not support the ability to check the printer??™s supply levels. Check with your printer
manufacturer for further information.
Share Printers
Your Mac can share printers connected to it with other computers on your network, and it can
also send jobs to printers being shared by other computers.
