Those days are long
gone for users of Mac OS X.
Make Your Own PDF Files
Open a Print dialog box from within any application and notice the PDF button in the lower-left
corner.
When you click the PDF button, you are given the following options (see Figure 8-10):
?–  Open PDF in Preview Select this option to create a PDF of your document and open it
automatically in the Preview application.
?–  Save as PDF Choose this option to save any document on your Mac to a PDF file.

?–  Save as PostScript A PostScript file is not something the average user will have to
ever worry about. PostScript files are typically used in graphics and print houses.
?–  Fax PDF This is a PDF workflow that saves your file as a PDF and then begins the
process of faxing it (more on faxing in the next section).
?–  Mail PDF Another PDF workflow that automatically saves your document as a PDF
and opens your default email application so that you can send it to someone else.
?–  Save as PDF-X This option is also aimed at the professional graphics crowd.
