"How to Do Everything: Mac"

A PDF-X
file is still a PDF, but one that has been stripped of unnecessary information and certain
types of images. Most readers of this book won??™t ever use this option.
?–  Save PDF to iPhoto Choose this option to save a document as a PDF and store it in
iPhoto.
?–  Save PDF to Web Receipts Folder Another example PDF workflow. This workflow
saves PDF files to the Documents | Web Receipts folder in your home folder. This is
useful when you make an online purchase or bill payment, because you can save the
online receipt as a PDF file.
?–  Edit Menu You can use this option to edit the PDF buttons menu, adding custom
workflows that suit your needs. One example would be to create a workflow that allows
you to save PDF files directly to a specific location on your hard drive.
Just the Fax, Ma??™am!
Please forgive the title for this section of the chapter, but anytime I get the chance to pay homage
to Barney Fife I jump all over it!
You must have an optional modem
connected to a phone line in order for
your Mac to send and receive faxes. If
you do have this modem, your Mac will
automatically be able to send faxes.
