"How to Do Everything: Mac"

And true to form for Apple, these tools
are remarkably easy to use.
Let Your Mouse Do the Walking: Using Address Book
Address Book is a really simple way to keep up with all your contacts and their pertinent info.
You??™ll never have to hunt down Grandma??™s address again! Address Book is fully integrated into
many of your Mac??™s applications, such as Mail, so entering a contact into Address Book makes it
instantly available in those applications as well.
Address Book creates a card for each contact you create. This card contains areas for
the contact??™s addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses. You can also import contact
information from other sources, such as your cell phone.
To get started, open Address Book by opening it from the Applications folder (Hard Drive |
Applications). Figure 9-1 shows the default Address Book GUI and affords you a quick look at
its layout.
Add Contacts
To add a contact to Address Book, choose File | New Card, press z-N, or click the + button under
the Name column (see Figure 9-1). Enter the appropriate information for your friend, family
member, or colleague, and your done.
