Upgrading to QuickTime Pro costs $29.95, but is it
worth it?
The answer to that question is totally up to you and your needs.
If you are a graphics professional who has purchased your Mac
for its multimedia capabilities, the answer is an unqualified ???yes.???
After all, that??™s why you??™re using your Mac! For the rest of us, let??™s
examine the abilities of QuickTime Pro so as to make an informed
decision.
Export Files
QuickTime Pro allows you to export your video and audio in lots of different standard formats,
allowing you to share your content with those less fortunate than us QuickTime users. The range
of file types you can export to is great, plus you can even specify devices you will be using the
exported file with, such as an iPod or AppleTV (see Figure 10-3).
Record Audio and Video
QuickTime Pro gives you the ability to record audio (see Figure 10-4) and video (see Figure 10-5)
on the fly.

In QuickTime Pro, you record audio by choosing File | New Audio Recording, which opens
the Audio Recording window.
