When
you import photos into iPhoto, they are automatically organized into what Apple calls Events,
according to the date they were taken.
Events view, shown in Figure 11-1, shows each Event with a caption underneath. By default,
the caption is the date of the Event, but you can add a title to the Event to describe it, such as
???Beach Vacation 2009.??? Simply click the caption to edit it.
When viewing all Events, you see only one photo for each Event; this photo is called the
Key Photo. Hold your mouse pointer over the Key Photo in an Event and then slowly drag (or
???scrub???) the pointer across it. As you scrub the Event, you can see all the other photos it contains.
Photos view (see Figure 11-2) still sorts your photos by Events, but it lets you see all the
individual pictures in the Event at one time.

of common tasks. Some items are only available in certain views, as indicated in parentheses.
