"How to Do Everything: Mac"

To facilitate
this dilemma, iPhoto will hide the picture for you. Open an Event, click the photo you want
to hide (select multiple photos by z-clicking them), and then click the Hide button. ???Show
hidden photo??? appears in the Event title bar, indicating that the Event contains a hidden
picture. To see the hidden picture, click the ???Show hidden photo??? text. The photo appears
with an ???X??? in its upper-right corner, indicating it is still considered a hidden photo. To take
a photo out of hide mode, select the photo and then click the Unhide button in the toolbar.
?–  Flag/Unflag (available in Photos view and open Events) Let??™s say you are sorting through
a stack of photos, and you set aside the photos you liked the best; this is essentially what
you are doing in iPhoto when you flag a photo. Flagging photos lets you select a temporary
group of photos that you will later create a new Event from or will add to an already existing
Event. Select a photo that you want to flag and click the Flag button; a tiny flag icon appears
in the photo??™s upper-left corner.
