"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Connect your iPod to your Mac now. Should your iPod??™s software be out of date, you will
see a similar prompt to this one:
Decide whether to download and install the update immediately, just download the software
and update later, or cancel the update entirely.
If you have synchronized your iPod with another Mac, you may see a message similar to this
one, telling you that you have previously synced with another photo library and asking whether
you??™re sure you want to sync with this one:
Make whatever decision you like, but understand this is irreversible.
CHAPTER 12: Well, Turn it Up, Man! Get In Tune with iTunes 269
Once your iPod is connected, its name displays in the Devices source pane, and your iPod??™s
information is shown in the iTunes main window, on the Summary tab. The following are the
five tabs in the iTunes window:
?–  Summary Gives you the basics of your iPod, showing you its name, memory capacity,
software version currently installed, sync options, and a visual breakdown of how the
memory on your iPod is used.
?–  Music Enables you to select which audio tracks and playlists to sync with your iPod.
