"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Well, it wasn??™t a joke, which really drew my ire, but then I found out that I only
knew half the story. It turns out you can sync with more than one Mac, you just can??™t sync
automatically! You can sync with as many Macs as you want as long as you do so manually!
To make this magic happen, click your iPod in the Devices source pane, and then check
the box next to ???Manually manage music??? (or ???music and video??? if you have a video iPod)
in the Summary tab. iTunes tells you that you must manually eject your iPod to properly
disconnect it from the system.
Don??™t worry about that message. It sounds so terrifying, like the Mac will blow up in
your face if you don??™t properly disconnect your iPod from it, but I assure you that??™s not the
case. All this message means is that you need to click the Eject iPod button in the lowerright
corner of the iTunes window, or click the Eject button next to the iPod in the Devices
source pane; after the iPod is no longer listed in the Devices source pane, you can disconnect
the iPod from your Mac.
To transfer tracks and playlists manually, just begin dragging-and-dropping them from
your Music Library to your iPod??™s icon in the Devices source pane.
