What??™s This ???1080i Video??? Stuff?
Some camcorders can record digital video in a high-definition format called 1080i, which
can save the video in sizes up to 1920 ?— 1080 pixels (trust me, that??™s pretty big). This makes
for some beautiful widescreen videos! However, something that large is going to take up
huge amounts of hard drive space. iMovie gives you the option of importing 1080i video at
its full size (1920 ?— 1080 pixels) or a large size, 960 ?— 540 pixels.
Check the documentation that came with your camera to see if 1080i is a format that it
supports.

To import a movie file, follow these simple steps:
1. Choose File | Import Movies and browse your Mac for the movie file you want to import.
2. Select the movie file you want to import and choose a drive from the Save To destination
if more than one hard disk is installed on the Mac.
