"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Events are great for one main reason: you can add as many clips from as many different
sources as you like. In other words, if your cousin Jarrod e-mails you movies that he took
with his cell phone at the Christmas gathering, you can add those to your Christmas 2009
Event, along with the video you imported from your camera.

Import iMovie HD Projects
You import an iMovie HD project in much the same manner as you import movie files:
1. Choose File | Import iMovie HD Project and browse your Mac for the iMovie HD
project you want to import.
2. Select the project folder and choose a Save To location.
3. Choose at what size to save the file (if it is in the 1080i video format).
4. Click Import.
None of the effects, titles, still images, or music tracks from the old iMovie HD project
will be imported into iMovie.
Once iMovie has finished the import, a new project is listed in the Project Library, a new
Event is added to the Event Library, and the clips are automatically added to the Project window,
ready to be transformed into a customized movie, as shown next.
