Choose
one from the iMovie or iLife options, and then drag the selection to the background of your
project. Be careful not to drop it onto your video clips; it should go behind them. When you drop
the music in the background, it is displayed by a green box.
The green box??™s length is indicative of the song??™s length compared to that of your video clips.
If your song is longer than the video clips, it will fade out during playback of the project.

To lengthen or shorten the playing time of the music track, click the green box to highlight
it, and then choose Edit | Trim Music. Drag the selection handles at the beginning and end of the
song to adjust its length.
Remove the background music by clicking the green box in the background of your project
and then pressing DELETE.
You??™ve just created a very basic iMovie project! There is so much more you can do with your
iMovie project, such as adding titles and placing transitions between video clips (fade in and out,
wipes, and so forth).
