Personal
As implied by the name, the preferences in this category relate to customizing, or personalizing,
your Mac. The seven preferences panes in this category are described in turn in the following
sections.

Appearance
The Appearance preferences pane was discussed already in Chapter 4, but we??™ll give it another
quick look. Changes made in the Appearance preferences pane affect the general look and feel
throughout your Mac.
?–  Appearance Choose between Blue and Graphite for the basic look of elements in the
Finder.
?–  Highlight Color Choose the color used to highlight text.
?–  Place scroll arrows Keep the arrows in the scroll bar together at the bottom or at
separate ends of the scroll bar.
?–  Click in the scroll bar to Determine your Mac??™s actions when you click the scroll bar
in a multiple-page document.
