Keyboard
Adjust the Key Repeat Rate using the sliders provided.
All keyboards have function keys (F1, F5, F12, and so on), but some of those keys lead a
double life. For example, the F1 and F2 keys on a MacBook act as the brightness controls for the

display. Checking the ???Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys??? box requires the user to
hold down the FN key to utilize the keys??™ secondary functionality.
Click the Modifier Keys button to change the functionality of your modifier keys, as shown
next. Modifier keys are keys you press simultaneously with other keys to perform a given
function, such as using the z key with the O key to open documents.

Trackpad
If you have a laptop, you will see the Trackpad tab, which you use to adjust your trackpad??™s
tracking, scrolling, and double-click speeds. You can have your laptop ignore trackpad input
when you have a mouse connected to it by checking the ???Ignore trackpad when mouse is
present??? box.
