"How to Do Everything: Mac"

After going
through the System Preferences, your Mac should cruise along according to your wants and
needs, your likes and dislikes. It??™s nice that something in your life is like that, isn??™t it?
Chapter 15
Making Your Mac Play Pretty with Other
Computers: Networking and Sharing
328 How to Do Everything: Mac
How to??¦
?–  Decide whether to connect wired or wirelessly (or both!)
?–  Get going with the Network Setup Assistant
?–  Use AirPort Utility
?–  Configure Internet connections
?–  Share files and Internet connections
Sharing and connecting are things we humans don??™t do quite as well as we once did, and
that??™s a shame. However, it seems that computers, especially Macs, are going in the opposite
direction. Connecting to a network and sharing files, photos, movies, and music have never been
easier than with Mac OS X. Mac OS X connects more easily to more types of networks than any
other operating system, hands down.
If you??™ve read Chapter 5, you??™ve probably already used the Network Setup Assistant to
quickly get onto the Internet, but Chapter 5 didn??™t go into much detail about networking.
