"How to Do Everything: Mac"

For instance, if your network is
a Gigabit Ethernet network, it runs at incredibly fast speeds, but if you don??™t have an Ethernet
cable capable of handling those speeds, you may need to manually change the Speed and Duplex
settings here. If you have problems staying connected to your network or if things seem to be
running really slow, consult your IT staff.
AirPort
The AirPort tab is unique to the AirPort advanced settings.
346 How to Do Everything: Mac
The Preferred Networks pane lists wireless networks you??™ve connected to. You can add or
remove items from the list by clicking the + or ??“ button, respectively, below the pane. Drag the
network names into the order in which you would like to join them.
Also, use the check boxes to choose how AirPort searches for networks and what it should
do when it finds them, whether to disconnect from wireless networks when you log out, and
whether an admin password is required to change AirPort settings.
Mom Always Taught Me to Share
Share and share alike. You share with me and I will share with you. Sometimes those concepts
are hard to teach kids (and some adults, for that matter), but a computer doesn??™t need to be taught
to share; it just needs to be told!
Your Mac can share files quite easily with other Macs to be sure, but it can also share
with, and access the shares of, Windows-based PCs and computers running other, UNIX-based
operating systems.
