Control access to your Mac by selecting which users can connect. Click the + and ??“ buttons
at the bottom of the preferences pane to add and remove users, respectively.
File Sharing
With File Sharing enabled, you can share files on your Mac with other users on your network.
Figure 15-2 shows the main options for the File Sharing service.
The Shared Folders pane lists which folders on your Mac you??™ve set up to share files from.
The Users pane displays exactly who can access said shared folders and enables you to limit the
type of access they have to the files and folders within it. Click the + and ??’ buttons beneath both
panes to add and remove shared folders and users.

Access Network Shares
To access the shared files and folders on your network, choose Go | Network in the Finder; a
Finder window opens to show you all the computers on your network that have sharing enabled.
Double-click the computer you want to access, and you will either be connected as a
Guest (if that kind of access is granted on this computer) or be prompted for a username and
password to gain permission to see shared items.
