Clicking the Options button lets you decide what network protocols can be used to access
your shared files and folders:
?–  AFP, or Apple File Protocol, allows you to share files using the aging AppleTalk
protocol.
?–  FTP is another old-school method for transferring files and folders, particularly over the
Internet.
To log on as a registered user of the computer, click the Connect As button in the upper
right of the Finder window to see the login window:
Enter your name and password to access files and folders you have permissions for.

?–  SMB stands for Server Message Block, which is the networking protocol primarily used
by Microsoft Windows. If you want to share files with your PC brethren, check this box
and check the box next to your user account.
Printer Sharing
Printer Sharing simply allows other computers to print to printers connected directly to your
computer. See Chapter 8 for more information.
Web Sharing
Your Mac can act as a website server if you have built a site and are storing it in the sites folder
in your user account??™s home directory.
