"How to Do Everything: Mac"

This option certainly has its uses
(you don??™t want your wife to know
you??™ve been setting up her dream
vacation via the Internet) but it has its
quite obvious misuses (Junior doesn??™t
want Mom to know what he??™s been
checking out on the Web after she??™s
gone to bed). To turn on this feature,
choose File | Private Browsing from
the menu bar and click OK in the
window shown here.
Private browsing remains on only during your current Safari session; when you quit
Safari, private browsing is turned off again.
?–  Reset Safari Resetting Safari is kind
of like using private browsing, only
after the fact. Resetting Safari clears
searches, items you entered into forms,
cookies, and pretty much every other
trace of your Internet activity. Choose
File | Reset Safari, check which
settings you want cleared, and then
click the Reset button.
?–  Empty the cache Safari keeps a copy
of each webpage it visits in a file called
a cache so that the page loads faster
the next time you go to it, assuming
no changes have been made to the site.
Emptying the cache clears those pages from the cache, which is a good idea if the page
isn??™t loading correctly.
