"How to Do Everything: Mac"

Unchecking this box is a safeguard,
keeping copies of emails on your ISP??™s server in case you need them in the future.
RSS
Safari isn??™t the only application on your Mac that can function as an RSS reader: Mail fits that
bill, too. The last section in this chapter details using RSS feeds with Mail. The RSS preferences
pane includes the preferences that determine Mail??™s handling of those feeds. Use these settings
to determine your Mac??™s default RSS reader, how often Mail should check for updates to RSS
feeds, and how you would like to remove articles from the feed list.
CHAPTER 17: Mail Call! 377
Junk Mail
You may know junk mail by its other nomenclature, spam, but a rose by any other name is still a
rose, or in this case junk by any other name is still junk. Anyone who??™s used email to any extent
has most likely received emails that they didn??™t solicit; this kind of email is considered junk mail.
Mail??™s Junk Mail preferences pane offers many options to protect you and yours from such
potentially nasty intrusions. Mail has an excellent junk mail filter that can sift through your
Inbox to find email that meets the requirements for junk mail.
