Another example would be to send all email whose subject contains information
about your son??™s football team practices into a folder called Football Practice Info. You can make
rules that automatically send certain emails to the Trash, or group them by dates in which they
were sent or received. The options are mind-blowing! Okay, maybe mind-blowing is a bit strong
of a term, but there??™s lots of possibilities, trust me.
The Rules preferences pane presents you with a list of all the rules that have been created
for Mail.

Select a rule from the list and then click the Edit button if you would like to make
adjustments to it, or click the Add Rule button to make a new rule altogether.
Give your new rule a descriptive title, and then configure it to your heart??™s content.

Create Mailboxes and Smart Mailboxes
Mailboxes are to Mail what folders are to Finder: they are places to store and organize emails of
a certain variety. Creating a new mailbox is the equivalent of creating a new folder in a Finder
window.
