"How to Do Everything: Mac"

If the application was made by
Apple the preferences should be located in the Hard Drive/Users/Your Home Folder/
Library/Preferences directory.
?–  Reinstall the application When all else fails you have to bite the bullet and reinstall the
application. Consult the documentation of your application for any special instructions on
uninstalling it.
Thaw Freezes
You??™re plodding along with your Mac, whistling while you work, of course, when all of a
sudden it just stops responding. Time seems to be standing still, for your Mac at least. You??™ve
just experienced a ???freeze,??? meaning that Mac OS X or the software you are using has come to
a screeching halt. More often than not the software you were currently using is the problem, not
the entire system.
When experiencing a freeze, test your mouse and keyboard. If the mouse pointer won??™t move
or the keyboard won??™t work, check their connections to the Mac. If the connections are okay,
move on to the following steps.
Stop a Stuck Process
You may request an action, or process, from your application that for whatever reason it can??™t
follow through on, causing the application to stop in its tracks.
