"How to Do Everything: Mac"

)
If you see a blank blue screen at startup, you probably have a login item that isn??™t agreeable
with the rest of the system. Boot into Safe Mode by holding down the SHIFT key as soon as you hear
the startup sound, and continue holding until the gray Apple logo appears. After the Mac boots up,
choose System Preferences | Accounts, and then click the Login Items tab of your account.
Write down your list of login items in case you want to add them back to the list later,
because you now need to remove all of them by clicking the - button below the list. After they
have all been removed, restart your Mac normally.
If you no longer see a blue screen, add login items back to the list one at a time to determine
which one caused the problem. Once you??™ve discovered which item is the culprit, you need to
restart into Safe Mode to remove it from the list for good.

Evaluate Third-Party Solutions
