To make these scripts run while the world is awake, you??™re going to get the distinct pleasure
of working with one of the oldest tools of the computing trade: the Terminal application.
Terminal is simply a program that lets you access the command line of Mac OS X in a window.
If you used a computer in the 1970s or 1980s, you probably know first-hand the sheer pleasure of
running a purely text-based operating system with no graphical interface to speak of, so Terminal
shouldn??™t scare you at all. However, it can be daunting for some first-timers. My suggestion to
those in the latter category is to follow every single step verbatim:
1. Open Terminal by choosing Hard Drive | Applications | Utilities (or Finder | Go | Utilities)
and double-clicking its icon, at which time you are greeted by this modest little window:
