Title your
disk image, choose where to store it, choose the
compression and encryption options, and then
click Save to save the disk image.

?– Convert Clicking this button enables you to change the disk image from one type to
another. For example, if you create a disk image that can be read and written to, but later
decide you don??™t want the information to be changed, you can convert the disk image to
read-only.
?– Resize Image Clicking this button allows you to resize a disk image to your liking. If
you have a disk that you want to add more information to, but it is filled to capacity, you
can resize the disk image to a size necessary to contain the new information.
?– Log Clicking this button opens the Disk Utility Log, which lists all the sordid details of
Disk Utility??™s activities.
Work with the Disk Utility Tabs
Select a disk from the sources list on the right and you will be able to choose one of the function
tabs so you can work with the disk. The following sections describe what functionality these tabs
provide.
