"How to Do Everything: Mac"

(I believe I??™ve just exposed the
depth of my intellect by referring to Rocky and Bullwinkle as opposed to the great literary giant,
Jules Verne??¦)
Open Time Machine by clicking its icon in the Dock or by choosing Hard Drive | Applications |
Time Machine from within the Finder, and you will be transported into a time warp!
The interface for Time Machine is so simple it??™s almost surprising:
?–  The timeline is on the right side of the window, denoted by the light and dark gray
dashes. Run your mouse cursor up and down the timeline to see previous dates in which
the system was backed up.
?–  The directional arrows speed you through the windows in reverse or forward motion.
?–  The toolbar at the bottom of the window gives the option to Cancel your trip through
history, and allows you to Restore a file, folder, or an entire disk.
To restore a file that has been deleted or to revert back to a previous version of the file, first
open the directory on your Mac in which the file was or is stored (the Finder windows in Time
Machine work exactly as they normally do in other programs).
