Once you??™re in the proper directory,
use the forward and reverse arrows to browse through your backups, or go directly to a specific
date by scrolling through the timeline. Find the file you need, click it once to highlight it, and then
click the Restore button to move an exact copy of the file to the present directory.

Here??™s an example: Let??™s say I??™ve accidentally deleted a file called ???tech edit progress??? and I
need to get it back from a previous backup. The directory I stored ???tech edit progress??? in is called
HTDEWYM. I proceed as follows:
1. I open the HTDEWYM directory in the Finder and click the Time Machine icon in the
Dock, at which point I??™m presented with this window:
2. I scroll through the past using either the arrows or the timeline.

There??™s what looks like my file! Notice the time changed from Now to the time the file
was backed up.
3. I click the file once to highlight it, but before I restore it I??™d like to check it to make
certain that it is indeed the file I??™m looking for.
